Compound Build-Out: Fencing, Gravel & Ground Equipment

The ground-level half of a tower site — fencing, gravel, equipment pads and grounding — built to the site plan so the compound passes inspection the first time.

Overview

A tower site is as much a ground-level build as a vertical one — the compound has to hold equipment cabinets, carry grounding current safely to earth, keep gravel graded for drainage, and keep the fence line where the lease and the site plan say it goes. We build that side of the job to the same documentation standard as the structure above it.

This is often the scope that gets added on to an erection or antenna job once a GC realizes the compound needs work too — we run it standalone or bundled with tower work on the same mobilization.

What's Included

  • Perimeter chain-link fencing with barbed top guard, line posts and access gate per site plan
  • Gravel ballast placement and compound grading for drainage
  • Ice bridge and cable tray installation between equipment and tower base
  • H-frame and equipment cabinet pad installation
  • Grounding ring and ground bar installation, bonded per site ground plan
  • Access road and gate hardware per lease and site plan requirements
  • Compound cleanup and final grading at closeout

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you build the compound without touching the tower structure itself?
Yes — compound build-out is a standalone scope. We also bundle it with erection or antenna work on the same site visit when both are needed.
Do you test and verify the grounding system, or just install it?
Both — ground resistance testing and a verification record are part of the closeout documentation, not just the installation.
What if our site plan and the actual lease boundary don't match in the field?
We flag it before setting fence posts. A compound built to the wrong boundary is a problem that costs more to fix after the fact than to catch before, so a field discrepancy gets raised to you before we proceed.
Do you handle the cabinet pads and H-frames, or just the fence and gravel?
Both — H-frame and equipment cabinet pad installation is part of this scope alongside fencing, gravel and grounding.
