Overview
Florida is one of Kelvan Group's three operating bases, alongside Philadelphia PA and Colorado, which means Florida sites aren't a long-distance mobilization for us — they're a home-region dispatch.
Climate & Seasonal Conditions
Hurricane season runs June through November, and Florida sites see the full range of tropical storm and hurricane exposure along both coasts and inland. High heat and humidity year-round accelerate corrosion on steel structures and hardware, which shows up in maintenance and coating schedules more than in colder states. Lightning frequency is also among the highest in the country, which factors into grounding system inspection priorities.
Typical Work in Florida
- Hurricane and tropical storm damage assessment and restoration, including temporary stabilization ahead of a full repair scope
- 5G densification and equipment modifications across dense coastal and metro corridors (Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville)
- Corrosion treatment and coating maintenance on an accelerated cycle versus drier, colder climates
- New tower builds and compound build-out supporting continued buildout in growing metro and suburban areas
- Grounding system inspection and verification given the state's high lightning frequency
