Overview
Rhode Island is small and densely settled, with most of its tower work in Providence and the Narragansett Bay area, on rooftops, monopoles and tight municipal or commercial parcels. Nearly every site is close to the water or to neighbors.
Climate & Seasonal Conditions
Nearly all of the state is coastal, so salt air is a constant source of corrosion on steel, bolts and cable hardware. Hurricanes, tropical storms and winter nor'easters have repeatedly hit the Bay and the south coast, bringing high wind and storm surge. Winters add snow and ice, and glacial soils with ledge and boulders can complicate foundation work.
Typical Work in Rhode Island
- Antenna and radio equipment work around Providence and Narragansett Bay
- Coating and corrosion maintenance for salt-air exposure
- Post-hurricane and nor'easter inspection and restoration
- Compact-site staging and crane placement on tight municipal and commercial parcels
- Foundation work in glacial till with ledge and boulders
